RMDL Championship Series
The Arbini Cup
Individual & Team Point Scoring
The team and individual point scoring is meant to serve as a means to maintain excitement and energy year-round by:
Creating a bigger picture vision for divers and teams to compete and improve throughout the year, whether or not they are eligible/able/desire to compete in the USA Diving championship season in the summer.
Encourage goal setting and development by creating a ‘competitive season’ structure leading into the USA Diving ‘Championship’ season.
More statistics from competition-based scenarios are fantastic for collegiate recruiting information, displays of improvement (short and long-term), and a compass for training development.
Developing a sense of TEAM culture by having individual points build towards a ‘Series Championship’ title. Regardless of skill level, everyone can contribute to their team’s success throughout the year.
Here is the tentative individual and team point structure.
There will be different points for Junior and Novice events. (See Below)
The sum of points an individual acquires throughout the season will determine an overall series point leader champion. Juniors and novice divisions will be separate from each other, and there will be a Junior champion(s) and a Novice champion(s)
Regardless of classification, there will only be two Novice champions (1 boy and 1 girl).
If a diver moves up to the Jr category throughout the season, any Novice points will remain in the Novice category and Junior points in the Jr Category.
The sum of all points earned by divers within a team from each meet will determine the series champion team.
